Martinsen family reunion

Garth, Jared and I spent the last week on a road trip to the Martinsen Family Reunion in Salt Lake City. We drove from Portland to Boise the first day and stayed overnight in a hotel. The next evening, we arrived at Garth's brother Clyde's "cabin" on Bear Lake. Bear Lake is on the Utah-Idaho border. Clyde has been working on theis house (5 bedrooms!) for 3 years. He has built it all himself with some help from his adult children. We loved the wonderful view of the lake and hills, and the quiet and bird songs.

We left after a couple of days and drove to Clyde's house in the Salt Lake Valley. Dawn is always so hospitable! Her daughter, Marlynn, and her husband and twin daughters were also staying with her for the reunion. The reunion was held on Saturday from 10 am to 10 pm at a city park in Bingham, Utah. Of e abGarth's grandparents' ten children, three are still alive, and were able to come. All ten had some decendants at the reunion. They each stood and told how their families were doing, then we had a wonderful feast. Everyone had brought food, from Dominoes Pizza to home-made bread and salads. After that, all those Martinsens sat around and told stories about Grandpa George and other fun stuff.

The next morning Garth, Jared and I loaded up the car and drove back to Porland.
